About Bill

I’m Bill. By day, I lead Virtual Guardian as its President. The rest of the time, you’ll find me on a mountain bike chasing trails, hiking with my family and our dogs, or just finding any excuse to be outdoors. I’ve always believed that life should be an adventure, and that pushing your own limits can make a difference for others.

Virtual Guardian is a cybersecurity company that protects organizations across North America. They’ve always believed in supporting their people, and giving me two months to take on this ride is proof of that.

Mountain biking has been a big part of my life for decades, but this summer I’m stepping into new territory: bikepacking. The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route will be my first major bikepacking expedition, and I chose it because there’s no bigger challenge in the sport. It’s a ride I’ve dreamed about for years, and thanks to the support of my team at Virtual Guardian and my family, I have the chance to make it happen this year.

I believe in making the best of the opportunities you’re given. So when this door opened, I knew I didn’t just want to ride for myself. I wanted to ride for something bigger. That’s why every mile of this journey is dedicated to raising funds for the American Cancer Society.

Cancer has touched my life in deeply personal ways. I’ve lost friends to this disease, and my family and extended family have lost people we love. This ride is my way of turning that into action, every hard mile channeled into something that can help.

None of this would be possible without my wife, Amy, and our family, who are holding down everything at home while I’m out chasing mountains for two months. They are the reason I can do this.

Thank you for following along. Whether you’re donating, sharing this page, or just sending good vibes out into the mountains, it all matters, and I’m grateful.
